Successful show including new foal

Several of our horses performed very well during the CSI3* Jumping Schröder Tubbergen. This applied for sure to the nine year old Sterrehof’s Edinus. Together with Marc he didn’t touch a rail in all classes he jumped. Only the time allowed didn’t work in his favour. This happened in the first round of the Grand Prix too, where Marc and Edinus finished on one penalty point and a neat tenth place. Roy Weel and the also nine year old Sterrehof’s Eddie Blue had no problem with the time in the first round of this 1.55m class but made one jumping fault and finished 13^th. Nevertheless a good performance of a combination still unexperienced at this level.

Family of Calimero

Roy experienced also a successful event with one of our other horses. Together with Sterrehof’s Great Blue (picture) he jumped only clear rounds in the CSI1* Big Tour. The icing on the cake was their performance in the Grand Prix. Seven years old Great Blue showed his competitiveness in the jump-off and strongly clinched sixth spot.

Our number one Sterrehof’s Calimero had some deserved time off last weekend but still played an indirect role at this show through his family. At the Borculo JST Foal Auction on Friday evening a niece of him went under the auction hammer. This lovely filly Noah W (picture below) is by the Grand Prix stallion Quabri de l’Isle and out of the dam Benthe W, the three-quarters sister of Calimero. Together with Marc we were able to acquire this very promising chestnut foal.
