Sterrehof’s Pherna

Sterrehof’s Pherna has brought us everything you hope for in a mare used for sport and breeding. The KWPN registered mare by Calvados, born in 1997, had quite a career with Julia Kayser. The pair was successful at an early stage already, resulting in several top positions in Grand Prix’s for the chestnut mare, which was yet to turn ten.

2009 was a special year for us. Pherna first carried the Sterrehof name and immediately added a string of successes to it with Julia, who had just become a mother. Their girlpower went from the four-star Grand Prix’s in Wiesbaden, at Outdoor Gelderland and CSI Twente to CHIO Aachen. Qualifying for the Windsor European Championships was the icing on the cake. Julia competed for Austria and her partner Marc for the Netherlands riding Sterrehof’s Opium. Pherna said goodbye to international showjumping during the London Olympia Horse Show, where they did very well in one of the leading classes. Pherna has been a broodmare at our stud ever since, till she passed away in the beginning of 2022.
