Grand Prix stallion with fantastic genes now available for breeding
The KWPN studbook has approved Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z for breeding. Before, Cayetano Z was only approved by Studbook Zangersheide. The first offspring of the 1.60m Grand Prix stallion are registered at this studbook. In recent years, Cayetano has been used as a sire to a very limited extent. In 2020 he retired from the sport which in combination with his promising offspring made us decide to make him fully available for breeding now.
About Cayetano
Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z was very successful at the highest level with Julia Houtzager-Kayser. Cayetano’s own sire is the proven stallion Caretano Z, one of the best Caretino sons in sport and breeding. Even more interesting is Cayetano’s dam Calipa Z. This mare by Cor de la Bryère produced eight international show jumpers, of which four jumped at 1.60m level, with Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z being the most successful one! Calipa is without a doubt the best broodmare from the legendary Ratina Z, winner of Olympic team gold (2x) and individual silver with Piet Raijmakers and Ludger Beerbaum.
KWPN report
Not for nothing does the KWPN speaks about a genetically interesting stallion in a report on their website. It also says: “Cayetano Z meets the KWPN radiographic requirements. The genome breeding value and conformation inspection ensued in no remarks. Cayetano Z has a genome breeding value of 101 (40% reliability) and he is no carrier of the WFFS-gene. Fresh and frozen semen of the stallion is available via Holstud in Lunteren.”
