Marc and Calimero second in Challenge Cup with the Dutch team
For the third year in a row, Sterrehof’s Calimero and Marc represented the Netherlands during the FEI Nations Cup Final in Barcelona. The opening class did not bring the result we hoped for, both for Marc and the Orange squad, that ultimately wasn’t qualified for the grand finale (top eight nations). A decent revenge followed in the small finale on Saturday. In the Real Club de Polo’s former Olympic arena Calimero finished his outdoor season with a single jumping fault in a furthermore flawless round. The result contributed to the second place of the Dutch team, in which Willem Greve (Zypria S) completed his second clear round of this competition.
Season highlights
With his last performance in Barcelona, Calimero was able to realise an appropriate ending to a good season. The highlight were of course the European Championships in Rotterdam. Just like the year before at the World Championships in Tryon, Calimero and Marc were responsible for the best Dutch result. This time they even finished eighth individually. Other highlights of the season were the second place with the Dutch team during CHIO Twente, a sixth place in the GCT of Paris, seventh in the GCT of Shanghai and a strong performance in the Grand Prix of Aachen. All in all another season of Calimero to be proud of!
