Calimero, Eddie Blue and Edinus in good shape during The Dutch Masters
Certainly Indoor Brabant didn’t bring the big successes from last year but also in the 2018 edition of this show, renamed The Dutch Masters, Marc and our horses were able to impress. For the second year in a row he and Sterrehof’s Calimero classified themselves in the Rolex Grand Prix! They were the first ones to realise a clear round in the difficult and delicate first round of this class that was for the first time part of the prestigious Rolex Grand Slam.
In the jump-off they had the difficult task to be the pathfinders, with twelve top competitors still to go. They started well, fought for it but the hope for an excellent result evaporated after a small touch caused a fault at the second element of the double combination. They finished on a neat eleventh spot, the same result they had reached during their first appearance on Friday.
Eddie Blue and Edinus
Also Sterrehof’s Eddie Blue was able to perform consistently in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The only nine year old grey gelding reached 7th spot in a 1.45m class on Sunday after he had finished 8th in a 1.40m against the clock on Saturday. Already on Friday Eddie Blue started the show well by finishing 19th in the opening class with 79 competitors.
No prices this time for Sterrehof’s Edinus. Nevertheless also this nine year old left a good impression behind. In the 1.55m main class on Saturday he made one fault where only five combinations were able to stay clear.
