Baccarat and Marc Houtzager finish third and fourth in main classes of Münster
He might jump a bit in the shadow of Sterrehof’s Calimero but we may not forget that Sterrehof’s Baccarat is also having a strong season. The eleven year old son of Padinus proved it again at the CSI Münster during the two main classes of this four star event. On Saturday he did an excellent job at the Championat of Münster and finished fourth after a double clear round, including a fast jump-off. In this prize giving ceremony we also saw Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z with Julia at a strong seventh spot. For these two a good preparation towards the European Championship in Gothenburg.
Best groom
On Sunday Baccarat and Marc showed themselves again and this time in the Grand Prix of Münster, one of the competitions of the DKB Riders Tour. They produces again a double clear and even did it one place better on third in this tough 1.60m. class. It was the best result of Baccarat in 2017. Besides several high finishes in important classes he also ended fifth in the Grand Prix of Hagen and fourth at the National Championships, where Calimero won the gold. Together with these two horses Marc has already been able to finish nine times in the top 5 of a prestigious Grand Prix this year!
But there was even more to celebrate in Münster. Madeleine Broek, the top groom of the horses of Marc en Julia, was awarded a second place in the Best Groom competition!
