Embryo by Sterrehof's Ushi and deceased Pacino realises top price at Flanders Foal Auction
What a wonderful result at the Flanders Foal Embryo Auction in Dublin! The embryo of our top mareSterrehof’s Ushi and the striking stallion Pacino led to an amount of €44,000 and is the result of a special genetic combination made possible through cooperation.
Phenomenon
Pacino showed to be a true phenomenon under Irish rider Clements McMahon and broke through at the highest level at the early age of eight. Unfortunately, he died of colic complications one year later. No semen of him was left, but the owner nevertheless managed to collect and freeze a very small amount shortly after his death.
Genetics Ushi
Many years later, Pacino’s limited offspring also appears to be extremely talented at international level, which makes him very interesting as a (deceased) progenitor. The offspring of Ushi, who herself has competed at 1.60m GP level and stems directly out of the very famous Qerly Chin/Narcotique de Muze dam line, has also been in demand for several years. This made it possible to use some of the very exclusively available frozen semen of Pacino, and led on Irish soil and in the entourage of the Dublin Horse Show(!), led to this wonderful result.
