International horses start season at Z Tour in Lanaken
After a short but well-deserved competition break several of our international horses opened the the new season in Lanaken at the third week of the Z Tour. Sterrehof’s Baccarat quickly warmed up in the early Spring sun at Domain Zangersheide. In the two phases opening class he scored a 0/1 result with Marc and in the next class this combination noted a double clear. On Sunday Baccarat finished his first week of the outdoor season with a neat result of 5 penalty points in a 1.50m class.
Sterrehof’s Dante and Julia had a little bit more ups and downs during the season opener. The mare who made her debut at 1.60m level last season still produced some clear rounds and will be gaining more experience the coming period. The same applies for the at international level still green Sterrehof’s Great Blue. He showed a good performance with Julia on Friday with a clean sheet in a two phases class.
Calimero and Edinus
Not present in Lanaken were Sterrehof’s Calimero and Sterrehof’s Edinus. These two top horses were flying to China. Their first start of the new season is planned at the Global Champions Tour of Shanghai. Two years ago Calimero had his breakthrough at the highest level by finishing third in the Grand Prix of this 5 star event. Two months ago both Grand Prix horses were already successful on Chinese soil during the Longines Hong Kong Masters.
