Success for Sterrehof's Cayetano Z and great finals Sterrehof Stud Trophy
We gladly look back at a fantastic edition of CSI3* Outdoor Gelderland, one of the events we as Sterrehof Stud support. All ingredients were present to make again a success of this international show at the national sports centre of Papendal, close to Arnhem.
Beautiful winners
Like the years before we had also sponsored several classes this time. First to be mentioned, the Sterrehof Stud Outdoor Gelderland Trophy for national combinations. On Wednesday the final of the 1.30m class was scheduled. This directly brought a spectacular winner. Tamara Danning and her Jeepiler (s. Cicero van Paemel Z) were far too strong for the other competitors in the jump-off and finished first. Ivo Campagne of Sterrehof Stud was present to congratulate her during the prize giving ceremony (picture 1 below). The next day he could give his congratulations to Max de Mol (picture 2 below). He won the 1.20m class with Fenno-al (s. Heartbreaker). On Saturday victory went towards Bart van Ooyen and Iglesias (s. Quasimodo van de Molendreef). They clinched first place in the 1.10m class, in which also our rider Edward van den Bragt performed well with the talented Ivo-c (picture above). They showed a neatly ridden first round and finished on 1 time penalty.
The showjumping on Saturday ended with the Sterrehof Stud Prize. This final of the international Medium Tour got a well-deserved winner in the combination of Jur Vrieling and Zypern III.
Cayetano Z excels
The icing on the cake followed for us on a very sunny Sunday. Sterrehof’s Great Blue impressed again with Roy Weel and showed an appropriate last performance of this show. The climax was still to come in the Grand Prix. Earlier this year Marc and Sterrehof’s Calimero won Jumping Amsterdam, that other show we support, and this time it was Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z’ and Julia’s turn to excel in the Grand Prix of the Province of Gelderland. Only eight combinations of the 50 starters were able to stay clear in a very delicate first round and among them were Julia and Cayetano. They repeated this performance in the jump-off and finished fantastically fourth in this prestigious class.
The result was also the confirmation of a successful comeback of Cayetano who has been used for breeding for the very first time earlier this year. The grandson of the famous Ratina Z produced embryo’s with the international qualified mares Sterrehof’s Ushi, Sterrehof’s Centolina and Sterrehof’s Felisimo, which have been successfully transferred to the foster mares.
