Unique opportunity: a daughter of Sterrehof’s Ushi and an offspring by Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z together
By offering the eight-year-old Henna S for sale, we make a unique opportunity possible to acquire one of Sterrehof Stud’s top broodmares! Henna is in foal by Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z and will give birth to her foal in April. Cayetano himself is a genetically very interesting Grand Prix stallion whose first crop, only seven foals in total, was born in 2019.
1.60m Grand Prix genes
Henna S (photo) is an appealing mare with a strong conformation and a height at the withers of 1.70 m. She is by Sterrehof’s Opium, the stallion who jumped at the highest level with Marc Houtzager until the age of 19. He finished seventh in the 2008 Olympic Games and successfully participated at CHIO Aachen for six consecutive years.
Henna’s dam Sterrehof’s Ushi also brings in Grand Prix genes. This mare by former world champion Vigo d’Arsouilles, competed at the highest level in FEI Nation Cups with Julia Houtzager-Kayser and was among others placed second in the Grand Prix of Donaueschingen. Ushi is used for breeding at our stud farm. Her first offspring, Goliath S (2011) has already jumped at international 1.45m level.
Narcotique de Muze dam line
Henna’s dam line is one of the very best in international sport and breeding. In the third generation we come across Narcotique de Muze II (by Darco), who jumped at Grand Prix level with Eric Lamaze and is the dam of more than ten international horses, including five at 1.60m level. Next we see the equally famous Querly Chin (by Chin Chin), who also performed at the highest level and produced five 1.60m horses, including Walnut de Muze (Harrie Smolders).
Grandson of Ratina Z
By combining Henna S with Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z, two of the best Belgian dam lines come together. Cayetano (by Caretano Z) is a grandson of none other than Ratina Z. This legendary mare won gold medals at the Olympic Games, the World Championships and the European Championships and triumphed in World Cup finals.
Cayetano has been performing at the highest level already for years now with Julia Houtzager-Kayser. The duo finished in the prize giving ceremony of several appealing Grands Prix, competed in the 2017 European Championships and excelled in the FEI Nations Cup final of 2018 in Barcelona.
Last year Cayetano’s very first crop was born. Five of his offspring are owned by Sterrehof Stud, one by Marc Houtzager and one by Willem Greve.
