Combination Emerald x Ushi sought after at online auction
An embryo by Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof out of our Sterrehof’s Ushi (photo) and placed in a foster mare turned out to be popular at the recent Paardenveilingonline auction. After a tough bidding duel, this embryo ended up in Swedish hands for a top price of €20,000. This made Ushi’s embryo not only the most expensive but also the overall top seller at this auction, as even the most expensive foals stayed just below the amount mentioned.
Narcotique/Qerly Chin dam line
Also at other auctions Ushi’s genes were very sought after. And that makes sense. Sterrehof’s Ushi is by world champion Vigo d’Arsouilles and jumped several years in a row successfully at 1.60m Grand Prix level with Julia Houtzager-Kayser. She is out of the world-famous Narcotique de Muze/Qerly Chin dam line and her dam is a half-sister to five 1.60m GP horses and five approved stallions, all directly bred out of Narcotique de Muze II (1.60m).
Ushi’s offspring
Nowadays Ushi shows herself in breeding. Goliath S, her very first offspring, is performing at international 1.45m level with Yinfan Zang. At Sterrehof Stud we still have several (mostly) young offspring of her, like the colts Orion S, and Chapeau S Z and the filly Cerly, a full sister to mentioned Chapeau. In addition, there is also the talented Mercurius S, bred out of Henna S, one of Sterrehof’s Ushi’s direct daughters.
