Fantastic home show and Sterrehof’s Calimero still going strong
What a successful weekend we had! The home show at the premises of Stoeterij Sterrehof goes into the books as very successful. More than 200 combinations at amateur sport level came in action on Saturday in several classes from 1.00 till 1.35m, including the final qualifiers for the Sterrehof Trophy at Outdoor Gelderland.
All ingredients were there for wonderful jumping sport, witnessed by a large audience. Among them were Ivo and Ellen Campagne (see photo) who clearly enjoyed the competition at their stud farm. It was their wish to organize this show before they both take a step back and slow things down a bit more. During the event Ivo and Ellen were put in the limelight and surprised with a painting of them both, made on site.
Calimero fit as a fiddle
The next day one could speak of a double successful weekend. Good old Sterrehof’s Calimero came into action with Marc during the Grand Prix of JPM International in Kessel. Thanks to the great management at the Houtzager Kayser stable, our seventeen-year-old top gelding still jumps around as fresh as a fiddle. In the 1.55m main class it resulted in a superb clear round, which was matched by only nine others of the 50 starting combinations.
Also in the jump-off our duo performed very well, but an unfortunate fault stood in the way of a higher position than place seven. Nevertheless still a result to be proud of, looking at the wonderful career of our indestructible Calimero.
