Felisimo, Eddie Blue and Dante perform well internationally
Behind our well-known names like Calimero, Baccarat, Bylou and Cayetano a younger generation of Sterrehof horses is getting ready to step in their hoofprints. Sterrehof’s Felisimo and Sterrehof’s Dante showed it last week at the CSI Oldenburg as Sterrehof’s Eddie Blue did at Indoor Wierden.
Delicate class
In Germany the only 7 year old Felisimo performed well with Marc during the opening class of the Youngster Tour. The daughter of Sterrehof’s Opium, the stallion who made Marc’s breakthrough towards the top of the sport possible, finished on 8th spot. Also in the final class Felisimo demonstrated her qualities although one rail down prevented a high classification.
The two years older Dante (s. Canturano) showed together with Julia girl power in the Grand Prix of Oldenburg. The duo had a clear round in this delicate class at a height of 1.55m and finished 11th after one fault in the jump-off.
Super horse
Sterrehof’s Eddie Blue performed closer to home. Mounted by Roy Weel he opened Indoor Wierden with a solid clear. Also in the second qualifier for the Grand Prix a clear round followed and short after that even a victory, including points for the world ranking, thanks to a clever ridden jump-off! Despite another good effort in the Grand Prix the son of Mr. Blue and Roy didn’t come close to a similar result after a rail fell down in the first round. Roy, who is a stable rider at Stal Houtzager-Kayser, commented about Eddie Blue at the website of Indoor Wierden. He said: ‘This is a super horse with a super mind who is also very careful. We don’t have a lot of experience at this level so it’s fun to get towards it step by step.’
