Sterrehof's Baccarat delivers best result for the Dutch team in Aachen
Both Sterrehof’s Calimero, Sterrehof’s Edinus and Sterrehof’s Baccarat came into action with Marc at the CHIO Aachen, the most important show we know in international horse sport. All horses displayed an excellent form in the famous stadium of Aachen.
Sterrehof’s Baccarat jumped for the first time in a Nations Cup and he made a dream debut of his performance. Not only because of the scene but for sure also because of the result. With a clear in the first round and a single time penalty in the second our duo realised the best result for the Orange squad, which finished neatly third in this historical Nations Cup. After Sterrehof’s Opium, Sterrehof’s Tamino and Sterrehof’s Calimero Baccarat is already our fourth horse that jumps in the NC of Aachen with Marc!
Main course for Calimero
Edinus performed in several smaller classes -if you can talk about small in Aachen 😊- and did not disappoint. He jumped his clear rounds too at this world-class show and noted a nice tenth place in a competition against the clock on Thursday.
The main course was of course for Calimero. Last year he even finished third in the Rolex Grand Prix – the best Dutch result since 2008- but this time a fault at the wide oxer prior to the triple combination regretfully prevented similar success.
Own breeding product
We could also focus on the performances of some of our youngsters at CSI Zuidwolde. Roy Weel, rider at the Houtzager-Kayser Stable, had an impressive show with Sterrehof’s Great Blue. After convincing clear rounds in the qualifiers they were also on a roll in the final of the seven-year-olds competition and finished seventh. Special to us was also the performance of Henna S. This daughter of Sterrehof’s Opium and Sterrehof’s Ushi, and therefore one of our own breeding products, jumped for the first time at an international show and performed well among the six-year-old horses.
