Calimero shines in Villach after National Selection entry
After winning the Grand Prix of Drachten and a good performance at Jumping Amsterdam Dutch chef d’equipe Rob Ehrens was able to add Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof’s Calimero to his National Selection. A few days later Marc and Calimero gave a confirmation of their new status by finishing fifth in the Grand Prix of the GLOCK’s 3* show in Villach.
Marc’s partner Julia also reached the jump-off and ended on the ninth place with Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z. The day before Julia and Cayetano (third) were in front of Marc and Calimero (eight) in the 1.55m class.
Calimero, just ten years of age, is now in good company with other Sterrehof Stud-horses that preceded him. Sterrehof’s Opium and Sterrehof’s Tamino were even able to compete at the Olympic Games. Together with two other retired top horses from us you can find them in our Hall of Fame.
