Sterrehof’s Felisimo in lap of honour at the Hippiade

This weekend Sterrehof’s Calimero and Marc came into action during the CSI5* Brussels Stephex Masters. In a very selective first round of the Grand Prix our duo just came up short to reach the jump-off. Calimero had one regretful jumping fault and was a second too slow to join the prize winners with four penalty points.

It meant the nicest result of the weekend could be noted during the Hippiade in Ermelo. Sterrehof’s Felisimo had convincingly qualified herself with Edward van den Bragt for this national KNHS championship after finishing second during the provincial championships of Gelderland. At the KNHS Centre our combination was keen on winning the title in the M class (1.20m). After two clear rounds chances for a medal were still alive. In the jump-off Edward did his best and was able to realise the fastest time but not with a clear. He and Felisimo concluded their Hippiade adventure on a neat eighth spot. The title was won by Kimberly Loos and Miverva AEG.

Embryos by Sterrehof’s Cayetano

Beside these good performances in the arena we can also mention good news about Felisimo (s. Sterrehof’s Opium) on the breeding front. Last season this genetically very interesting and still young mare, who jumped at 1.40m level before, has been used for breeding for the first time. We could flush two embryos by Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z, who has also been at stud for the first in 2018. Both embryos have successfully been transferred into foster mares, which means Felisimo has realised a fruitful combination of sport and breeding!
