‘Edinus has done fantastic things already’
In the past we were already able to secure several top horses for Marc Houtzager and indirectly also for Dutch showjumping. Just think about names like Sterrehof’s Baccarat, Sterrehof’s Tamino and Sterrehof’s Opium. The purchase of the latter even marked the beginning of our long lasting cooperation with the Houtzager-Kayser Stables. In light of the future we have been able to secure another potential top horse for Marc. We’re talking here about the just nine years old Edinus, like Baccarat a son of KWPN stallion Padinus. We already co-owned the brown gelding together with the Houtzager-Kayser Stable but since recently we fully own this future Grand Prix horse, who is now named Sterrehof’s Edinus.
Very useful
Last year Edinus had a successful breakthrough at 1.50m level and during Jumping Amsterdam he again showed what he is capable of. In the shadow of Sterrehof’s Calimero who performed brilliantly in the Grand Prix it was Sterrehof’s Edinus who shone in the main class on Saturday. With only one penalty point for exceeding the time allowed he was able to finish in the top of this difficult 1.50m class. Marc tells about his Grand Prix prospect: ‘Edinus still has little experience but he already has done fantastic things. The class in Amsterdam was his most difficult so far and he did very well. He’s still young but already very careful and useful next to my other horses.’
