Several clear rounds and a successful comeback during the CSI Drachten
After a short winter break many of our international horses headed off to Drachten for their first CSI of the year. Although we didn’t see them back in the prize giving ceremonies we can still say 2018 has started promising. We could note a lot of convincing rounds including eleven clears on the result lists. Four of these were realised by Sterrehof Baccarat who also jumped towards two time penalties in another class of the Small Tour. All in all a very satisfying comeback in the show arena for our Grand Prix crack together with rider Marc Houtzager.
Sterrehof’s Dante with Julia Houtzager-Kayser and Sterrehof’s Eddie Blue with Roy Weel showed several strong performances in the Big Tour of the CSI2*. After only clear rounds during the first days of the event one jumping fault in the Grand Prix prevented a second appearance for both of them. The same applied for Flow and Mighty Max in the main class of the CSI1*. Flow competed with Julia this time and Mighty Max was as usual ridden by Michael Greeve.
Next week we continue in Drachten for the CSI3*. On Sunday the climax of two weeks jumping in Friesland is scheduled. Last year it were Marc and Sterrehof’s Calimero who won this Grand Prix.
