Sterrehof’s Uppity

He walked in the shadow of horses such as Opium and Tamino, but he did it rather successfully. Moreover, these top horses could never have performed the way they did without Sterrehof’s Uppity’s substantial contribution. The chestnut gelding, born in 2001, is a typical son of his sire Guidam. He developed into a multiple winner. He carried Marc to no less than eleven international wins in mostly important side classes.

Uppity was only eight years old when he entered the prestigious Spruce Meadows Masters, making that debut into an instant success. The year 2014 would turn out to be the most successful, with as much as eleven international top three places. He also made a name for himself at five-star level. He qualified for several Global Champion Tour Grand Prix’s, competed successfully at CHIO Aachen and contributed considerably to Marc and Tamino’s seventh place in the 2013 World Cup Finals. In 2016, Uppity, being the opposite of what his name suggests, retired, only two months after he had won a class at CSI Eindhoven. Regretfully he wasn’t able to enjoy his well deserved pension for a long time. Uppity died in 2017 after a severe colic.
