The talented Sterrehof’s Great Blue offers everything modern showjumping needs: attitude, rideability, significant size, magnitude and power. The KWPN stallion committee praised these traits at the time of his approval, given the 8s for carriage and balance, canter, rideability and power on his final list. Great Blue made his international debut at CSIYH-level with Caroline Müller after which his training came in the hands of Julia Kayser and Roy Weel. Together with Julia Great Blue jumped at 1.45m level. In 2018 he was sold to the US.

Great Blue’s sire Plot Blue (Marcus Ehning) and grandsire Libero H (Jos Lansink) are both former winners of the FEI World Cup Final. Libero H proved to be priceless for breeding and Plot Blue is also making a name for himself in this area. Great Blue’s dam Nibero acquired the ster and preferent predicate and granddam Heline (by Concorde) herself jumped at 1.30m level. Through a daughter of the stallion Zevenaar we find the remarkable Farn daughter Zaline further down the mare line.
