Sterrehof's Calimero

(Quidam de Revel x Libero H)

Memorable moments

After a successful year in the Youngster Tour Calimero had his break-through at the highest level in 2016, with several remarkable results, such as a third place in the Shanghai Longines GCT Grand Prix and a sixth place in the Rotterdam Grand Prix.

New successes followed directly in 2017. Calimero won the Grand Prix of Indoor Drachten and finished third in the Rolex Grand Prix of the Dutch Masters. After that it was Calimero who brought his rider his first gold medal at the national championships in Mierlo, a result which was followed by a third place in the Grand Prix of Rotterdam and by the same result in the legendary Grand Prix of CHIO Aachen. Shortly after that Calimero won the GP of Ommen. All these results brought him to the European Championship in Gothenburg, where he just missed the individual final. The finish of the season was successful again when the Dutch team, with Marc and Calimero, won the FEI Nations Cup final in Barcelona.

Early in 2018 the string of successes continued when Calimero won the Grand Prix of Jumping Amsterdam. A strong outdoor season was rewarded with a selection for the WEG in Tryon. Individually Marc and Calimero achieved the best Dutch result. A special climax followed at the end of the year when Marc and Calimero won in Prague the first edition of the Global Champions League Super Cup together with their team Madrid in Motion.

Also in 2019, Calimero started strongly by clinching a second spot in both the World Cup qualifier and the Grand Prix of the CSI Basel. In the first FEI Nations Cup of the season during CHIO Twente Calimero finished second with the Dutch team. For the third year in a row, Calimero was selected for a big championship, this time the Europeans in Rotterdam. He and Marc were again the best Dutch combination and finished eighth invididually.

In 2021 Calimero jumped his fourth big championship at the Europeans in Riesenbeck. He and Marc qualified as the numbers 15 for the individual final, for the third time in a row the best result of the Dutch squad.
At the end of 2023 Calimero showed that age is sometimes just a number by winnen the Championat of Salzburg at the age of sixteen. In 2024 it was time to say goodbye to the podium that put him in the limelight and get his deserved retirement at the pasture!
