Sterrehof's Dante and Mereusa finish outdoor season in Spain
Just like last year, Marc competed at the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva with our horses. Sterrehof’s Dante (picture above) was present again and was accompanied by the nine years younger Mereusa, who had already been introduced to this venue last February during the MET’s Spring edition.
Special season
The three-week tour marked the end of the outdoor season, which turned out to be special for Dante and Marc thanks to that memorable victory in the Grand Prix of Rotterdam and an equally stunning win in the Grand Prix of Münster. The 16 years old Dante nowadays only jumps a selective number of classes. In Spain she got the first week off and the concluding Grand Prix of week three was just her fourth class of this tour. Dante again showed an excellent form, but this time a reward didn’t follow due to a single small fault. In the end, our duo finished neatly twelfth in this main class with 57 starting combinations.
Valuable experience
The seven-year-old talent Mereusa, who we own together with Stal Houtzager-Kayser, also finished her tour with a following prize. Mereusa mainly came into action in the 7yo’s classes. The chestnut mare jumped several clears and especially gained a lot of valuable experience. And of course she had a ride on the beach with Marc like the other horses, which is a nice tradition during this Spanish tour.
