Klasse EB and Sterrehof's Dante also successful in 'their' GP
An already successful week in the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour came to a fine climax on Sunday. Sterrehof’s Calimero and Marc opened the 1.45m Grand Prix of Oliva with a strong clear round and joined eleven other candidates for the jump-off in field of 48 combinations.
That our 16-year-old top gelding is still going strong was shown again in the decisive round. No jumping faults were made in a clever ridden jump-off and the clock stopped at exactly 43 seconds, realising an ex aequo result with Swiss rider Niklaus Schurtenberger. At the end it was sufficient for a superb, and this time shared third place.
Klasse showed her class
The day before, eight-year-old Klasse EB was also allowed to come back for the prize-giving with Marc (picture below), in their 1.40m Grand Prix of the Silver Tour. Again, two good clear rounds and a skillfully ridden jump-off got rewarded, this time with the fourth place.
Finally, in the so-called small Grand Prix at 1.45m, it was time for Sterrehof’s Dante to show her qualities. Also with her Marc made no jumping fault in the first round, but the time allowed was slightly exceeded. Their single penalty was still enough for the twelfth and last price at the result list.
