Colt out of well-known Dutch dam line is Cayetano's first offspring in 2023
Breeder Stal Renken has announced the birth of Sterrehof’s Cayetano‘s first foal of the year. This beautiful colt (photo below) by our top stallion out is out of a dam line that clearly rings a bell among the breeding experts.
Dam line Harmonie
The colt’s dam is Olympia SRK. This four-year-old mare is by the nine-year-old international jumping stallion Jagger SRK, the KWPN-approved son by progenitor Untouchable. Olympia’s dam Don’t Forget Liefhebber (who is by Quidam de Revel) also produced the KWPN approved It’s Possible SRK, who jumps at 1.55m level, and the great broodmare Indian Girl SIH (1.45m level). We then see the well-known mare Harmonie in this pedigree. She jumped at 1.50m level herself, produced among others the KWPN approved Dutch Design (1.55m) and was for many years the leading mare on the KWPN breeding values ranking.
About Cayetano
This foal’s birth gives a good start to the offspring we expect out of the second year that Cayetano (s. Caretano Z) has been made fully available for breeding. He himself competed at the highest level in sport and did it successfully for many years under the saddle of Julia Houtzager-Kayser. The stallion, approved by both the KWPN and Zangersheide, also has a wonderful pedigree being the grandson of the legendary Ratina Z. Her direct daughter Calipa Z produced no less than eight international showjumpers, four of which are classified at 1.60m. The most successful one: Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z!
