Sterrehof’s Calimero shows his form in GCL/GCT Valkenswaard

In the week the announcement came that Sterrehof’s Calimero and Marc will defend the Dutch colours during the European Championships in Riesenbeck (1 to 5 September), both competed in their own country at the GCL/GCT of Valkenswaard. On Friday Calimero immediately showed his good form in the Tops International Arena. He realised a nice clear round in the first competition of the Global Champions League. The next day he also jumped impressively for the Prague Lions in the second leg of this team competition but was not able to keep a clean sheet and finished on four penalties after two rounds.

Grand Prix GCT

This result was enough to qualify for the Grand Prix of the Global Champions Tour. In this tough class, our top gelding showed that he is getting into the right form towards his fourth big championship in five years. Unfortunately, a single rail prevented a real top result, but thanks to a relatively fast round and just a few combinations in the jump-off, our duo still belonged to the prize winners.
