Marc: ‘She has shown her potential as a championship horse’
Sterrehof’s Dante N.O.P. jumped her first big championship with Marc at the Tokyo Olympics. She started the individual qualifier with a convincing clear round and deserved a ticket for the final (top 30). One day later, the course of the individual final seemed a hard nut to crack. Dante and Marc did their very best but were not able to finish higher than 21st.
‘Really happy’
Revanche followed during the team competition qualifier. Dante and Marc delivered the best team result for the Netherlands and prolonged their Olympic adventure. Also on the last day Dante jumped her heart out and Marc showed again his phenomenal riding skills. Together with the results of team mates Harrie Smolders and Maikel van der Vleuten the Dutch team was able to finish on a neat but also thankless fourth place.
Marc reacted afterwards and said: ‘Fourth is of course a pity, but I’m glad Dante endured all these difficult courses well. This was her first championship and she has proven that she can jump big courses over several days and showed her potential as a championship horse. I’m really happy about that!’
