Three foals born out of three international dams
After we previously could welcome appealing fillies from Sterrehof’s Bylou and Sterrehof’s Centolina, this time it was Sterrehof’s Ushi’s turn to give birth to a very promising filly (picture below). Sire is our Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z, which means that Grand Prix genes from both sire and dam side and the best dam lines from BWP breeding and Zangersheide Studfarm come together in this foal.
Famous granddams
Dam Ushi (by Vigo d´Arsouilles) previously jumped successfully at 1.60m level with Julia (picture above) and has a famous sport and breeding mare as her granddam in Narcotique de Muze II (1.60m level). Sire Cayetano (by Caretano Z) makes this story even better. Julia’s current Grand Prix star, who among others jumped at the European Championship in Gothenburg 2017, even has a legendary granddam in Ratina Z, the winner of Olympic gold (2x) and silver. Cayetano’s dam Calipa Z (by Cor de la Bryère) is the best broodmare out of Ratina and produced eight internationally registered offspring of which no less than four at 1.60m level.
The combination Sterrehof’s Ushi x Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z gave us last year the colts Catch of the Day and Chapeau and now for the first time an offspring of the opposite sex. A few weeks ago another filly by Cayetano was born, this one is produced by Centolina (1.40m level).
Very first offspring
Another particularly interesting filly started the 2020 breeding season for us. This Phylou is Sterrehof’s Bylou (1.60m level) very first offspring. Her sire is eight-year-old United Touch S, who has golden Olympic mare Classic Touch twice in his pedigree.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that all these broodmares, so both Ushi, Centolina and Bylou, carried their foal themselves.
